Water is fundamental to our health and well-being. Studies show that most of our water sources today have been contaminated and we can consume it unknowingly. Plain tap water is easy, convenient and it comes right out of your kitchen faucet, however most tap water is contaminated with a host of pollutants that can increase the risk of serious health problems. Some of these contaminants can adversely affect your healthy and your family.

With having good household filtration equipment, it will be able to remove most if not all contaminants form you water for you to be safe from the hazards of impure water. It will also help fragments and solid residues from the water as well as absorb all the dirt and pollutants. In addition, it can also remove bacteria and enhanced the taste and odor of the water. Chlorine is a very effective disinfectant and has been used in drinking water supplies for nearly 100 years. Running tapped water in our neighborhoods today is chlorinated because most treatment facilities use chlorine to disinfect water. Though this is a necessary process but there is an enhanced danger of cancer in people who drink chlorinated water. When chlorine is added to our water it combines with other natural compounds to form Trihalomethanes (chlorination byproducts) or THMS. These chlorine by-products trigger the production of free radicals in the body, causing cell damage, and are highly carcinogenic. Chlorine is also suspected to contribute to hardening of the arteries, the primary cause of heart disease. Hard water is another problem that which is the state of water that is comprised of high concentrations of undissolved minerals, such as calcium carbonate and dolomite. Though its not detrimental to your health but it is harsh on your skin and hair. It can cause damage to healthy skin cells. When this happens, the skin becomes vulnerable to sun damage and harmful ultraviolet rays. Constant use of hard water can also lead to dry skin, acne and it can also remove the body’s natural oils which can lean to failure in the skin’s natural antimicrobial properties.
